For instance, I will often forget to clean up after myself when working on a project, but if someone ELSE does that I get very angry.

In my world it's like this: my family also does not understand why my leaving a mess for me to clean up is not the same as somebody else leaving a mess for me to clean up. Whereas I, when they do this, want to beat them with a stick. :-)
